In photography, the term ‘saturation’ is used to describe the intensity of colors. This course will investigate our intense, colorful, and amazing life through a combination of photography (specifically, selfies) and writing. Many view the selfie as silly at best and at worst narcissistic, however, selfies are actually just another form of self-expression which we can use to document our lives and tell our stories. Through a variety of readings and texts, online discussions, and both photography and writing exercises, we will investigate our personal identities and how we choose to portray ourselves, as well as what story we are narrating about our intensely amazing lives. This four-week course is ideal for those just entering an examination of selfies as a form of art, as well as for those who took the previously offered “Selfies” class.
